DEAR TRS, MY FAMILY HAS BEEN HOMELESS FOR 5 YEARS AND HDB KEEPS REJECTING US
Dear TRS,
For the past 5 years, my family and I have been constantly approaching HDB trying to buy a flat but every single time, we are quickly rejected.
They assume that we don't have savings but they don't even know what we have in the first place.
We went down yesterday and demanded that we get an answer for why we have not been approved. We waited all day to get the higher authority to grant us a flat or at least give us a good explanation of why we have been repeatedly rejected but when we refused to leave before getting an answer, the HDB hub called the police.
We had made it clear that we weren't going to be leaving until we got some proper answers but the security came and called the police to get us to leave.
Eventually, the officer told us that we needed to leave and come back the nex day to speak to the higher authority.
So this morning, we went down again to the HDB hub and waited all day for one of the superiors to speak with us and explain why we keep being rejected without any proper examination of our case.
We have been basically homeless for 5 years.
If the government is not going to help us, who can we turn to?
Please help us we are homeless.
